Hanoi Metropolitan Rail Transport Project Board | Hanoi Metro Line 3
The proposed stations introduce contemporary architecture and sustainable design, convey a modern and dynamic image of the city, and preserve the beauty, the charm, and the balance of the streets of this city.
SYSTRA was responsible for the design of 12 stations (8 elevated and 4 underground) as well as the maintenance depot to the metro line. The Section Nhon-Hanoi Railways Station featured was inspired directly by the wing shape of a butterfly; this roof is a contemporary interpretation of the vernacular Vietnamese large overhang roofs.
The project also included the design of a 5.2-mile viaduct, 2.5-mile tunnel and maintenance workshop for the rolling stock. The new line is designed to transport 36,100 people per hour.
