Réseau Ferré de France | Multimodal Exchange Terminal St Augustin Airport
Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) called upon SYSTRA to develop the feasibility study and conceptual design for a new high-speed rail station for Nice in the south of France – a station which represents a major opportunity and development for the city.
Detailed studies were undertaken to ensure the ease and efficiency of passenger flow inside the station and around the intermodal hub.
The new Intermodal Hub connects the High-Speed Rail to the airport tram, taxis and bus services. Special attention was given to circulation spaces in the zones between the different modes and networks assuring passengers can move freely and safely while transferring, passenger services areas were grouped in identifiable easily navigable locations, and the main concourse was designed to achieve optimal exiting transfer flows, travel distances and programmatic relationships.
