Manuel Millan, AIA
Manuel received his Master of Architecture and Urbanism from Escola Superior Gallaecia and Bachelor of Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology. His professional trajectory has been rich with variety, having served in different roles–domestically and internationally–ranging from architect and master planner to industrial designer and educator. The primary passion throughout Manuel’s career has always been, and continues to be, the improvement of people’s lives and empowerment of communities through design.
Manuel was the Project Manager/Lead Designer for mega projects such as the City of Fashion for Adolfo Dominguez in Allariz, Spain (a 247-acre complex including hotel, conference center, training facilities, design workshop buildings, administrative buildings, childcare, mega stores and industrial buildings), and two major Superstorm Sandy Recovery projects (Gravesend Houses and Beach 41st Houses) for New York City Housing Authority. He has demonstrated his commitment to help communities recover, thrive and be more resilient from natural disasters or economic crisis.
Currently at SYSTRA A+E, Manuel has been spearheading the effort in developing sustainable and innovative infrastructure/transit projects to connect people and communities.
